Hello! My name is Sandi, and if you’re exploring this blog, I already know we have at least one thing in common–you love to travel! Or you at a least love the idea of traveling, even if you’ve never gone anywhere…yet!
I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.

Why Listen to Me?
I love to travel–I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited all 50 of the United States and 21 (and counting!) countries, many of my favorites more than once. Not bad for a girl from Kansas! I’m also a clinical psychologist with years of training (including a piece of paper announcing I have a Ph.D.) and over three decades of experience helping children and adults change their behavior and make different choices to improve their lives and live with more intentionality, abundance, and joy. I believe that the combination of my favorite hobby with my professional experience gives me a unique understanding of the joys and frustrations inherent in planning trips, as well as some wisdom regarding human nature and strategies to help wishful adventurers overcome planning roadblocks and create the trip(s) of their dreams.
Independent Travel — Be Brave and Wise…and Adventure-ish!
I think there are a lot of you out there like me who want to explore the world more than you have, but not necessarily from the window of a tour bus; however, the idea of leaving your job to travel around the world like a twenty-something Instagram influencer isn’t realistic. I don’t actually think of myself as being a very adventurous person, and I didn’t realize I was doing anything out of the ordinary until I repeatedly had the experience of people saying they admired my courage in traveling independently. What?! Me?!
There were also multiple friends asking me to help them plan an independent trip since they didn’t know where to start. And that’s what this blog is about–being brave enough to act on your dreams and wise enough to know how to make those dreams turn into a realistic adventure!
My Companions
My husband, Greg, is often (but not always) my travel companion. He’s a talented photographer, and you’ll not only see photos OF him on this blog but photos taken BY him. I’ll try to make sure to give him credit where credit is due. Since I love to journey with family and friends, you may see other people show up from time to time, and I’ll try to make sure to let you know who they are when that happens.
